Background Information
Cochlin, also named as COCH and COCH5B2, is the product of the coagulation factor C homology gene (COCH). Three cochlin protein isoforms (~40, ~44 and ~60 kDa) have been detected in the cochlea and eye. And it can be cleaved to 50 kDa fragment. Cochlin comprises the major non-collagen component of the ECM of the inner ear.
