Background Information

Diacylglycerol kinase zeta (DGKZ), also known as DAGK5, DAGK6, DGK-ZETA, hDGKzeta, belongs to the diacylglycerol kinase (DGK) family which catalyzes diacylglycerol (DAG) into phosphatidic acid (PA). DGKZ is a novel promoter of metastasis and that it could be a potential prognostic indicator in patients with triple-negative breast cancer by suppressing lipid raft-dependent endocytosis of TGFbetaR2(PMID: 35115500). Downregulation of DGKZ suppresses tumorigenesis and progression of cervical cancer by facilitating cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest(PMID: 33926342).
