Product Information
KE00194 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The CCL27 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous CCL27. The assay recognizes human CCL27. An antibody specific for CCL27 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The CCL27 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for human CCL27 is added to detect the captured human CCL27 protein. For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CCL27, also known as CTACK, is a member of the CC chemokine subfamily. CCL27 is predominantly expressed in skin and selectively attracts cutaneous lymphocyte antigen-positive T cells and Langerhans cells. The CCL27 secreted from keratinocytes was reportedly involved in inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis. CCL27 is a ligand to CCR10. The binding of CCL27 to CCR10 on T cells promotes their migration to the skin, where they can then participate in local immune responses.
