Product Information

KE00331 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PDGFR beta ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PDGFR beta. The assay recognizes human PDGFR beta. An antibody specific for human PDGFR beta has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PDGFR beta protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PDGFR beta is added to detect the captured human PDGFR beta protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

PDGFR beta(platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta) is a typical transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor that promotes blood vessel formation when activated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and controls many important cellular processes such as growth, proliferation, movement, and survival. PDGFR beta is expressed in neurons, vascular smooth muscle cells, and pericytes. PDGFR beta may serve as a prognostic factor in GC (Gastric cancer) by immunohistochemical expression. In addition, PDGFR beta activation is sufficient to promote cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart regeneration by stimulating EZH2-mediated Ink4a/Arf repression.
