Background Information

NTRK1(Neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor 1) is located on chromosome 1q23.1 and is responsible for a rare genetic disorder, CIPA (congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis) (PMID: 37907480). As a neurotrophin receptor, NTRK1 is abundantly expressed in human neuronal tissues and plays an integral role in the development and function of the human nervous system (PMID: 27843590). NTRK1 also regulates the survival and proliferation of cholinergic neurons (PMID: 20054812).
