Background Information
SUNC1 encodes SUN3 which is a member of SUN domain protein family, an evolutionary conserved family of inner nuclear membrane (INM) proteins that share a common C-terminal motif. SUN3 is mainly expressed in testis and is involved in sperm head formation.
