Stability and Reconstitution
Stability and Storage | Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20°C) and (-80°C). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4°C) for short term or at (-20°C) to (-80°C) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products. |
Reconstitution | Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein to 0.2 mg/mL in sterile 1x PBS pH 7.4 containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA). Gently swirl or tap vial to mix. |
Background
Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), also known as CCL2, is a chemokine that regulates monocyte and macrophage migration and infiltration. In addition to monocytes and macrophages, MCP-1 can also serve as a chemoattractant for T cells, B cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, and neutrophils. MCP-1 expression is typically induced by the release of inflammatory cytokines and other stimuli from sites of tissue injury and infection. It in turn promotes the extravasation of immune cells across blood vessel walls and their subsequent infiltration of the infection site. It may also play a role in macrophage polarization as well as the differentiation of monocytes into dendritic cells, MSDCs, and osteoclasts. Increased MCP-1 expression has been linked to inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerosis, and multiple sclerosis.(PMID: 19441883, 31921102)
