Background

Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 (FGF8), also known as AIGF and HBGF-8, is a member of the FGF family involved in embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, and cell survival (PMID: 11276432; 15863033). HumanKine Fibroblast Growth Factor 8b (FGF-8b) is widely used in brain organoid differentiation due to its key role in early neural patterning and regional specification. FGF-8b signaling supports the formation of midbrain-like and ventral neural domains, making it valuable for dopaminergic neuron differentiation and human neurodevelopment models. It also enhances cellular diversity in organoids, enabling more complex and physiologically relevant 3D tissue structures. Produced in a mammalian HEK293 expression system, HumanKine FGF-8b provides a highly bioactive, human-relevant protein with consistent performance, supporting reproducible brain organoid generation, midbrain specification, and translational neuroscience research.
