Stability and Reconstitution

Stability and Storage Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20°C) and (-80°C). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4°C) for short term or at (-20°C) to (-80°C) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products.
Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile 1xPBS pH 7.4 containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA).

Background

IL28A is a type III IFN, which shares many of the biological effects of type I IFNs but may have fewer side effects due to a more selective receptor distribution. It interacts with a heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor that consists of interleukin 10 receptor, beta (IL10RB) and interleukin 28 receptor, alpha (IL28RA). IL28A is believed to play a significant role in the antiviral immune defense in the intestinal epithelium (PMID: 20712453;12469119;16539846).
