  • Purity of recombinant human TGF beta 3 was determined by SDS- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The protein was resolved in an SDS- polyacrylamide gel in reducing and non-reducing conditions and stained using Coomassie blue.

Cell number was quantitatively assessed by PrestoBlue® cell viability reagent. HT-2 cells were treated with increasing concentrations of recombinant TGF beta 3 for 72 hours. The EC50 was determined using a 4-parameter non-linear regression model. Activity determination was conducted in triplicate on the validated bioassay. The EC50 range is 0.14-0.75 ng/mL

Stability and Reconstitution

Stability and Storage Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20°C) and (-80°C). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4°C) for short term or at (-20°C) to (-80°C) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products.
Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein to 0.1mg/mL in sterile 4 mM HCl containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA). Gently swirl or tap vial to mix.

Background

The transforming growth factor beta-3 (TGFβ-3) protein is found throughout the body and is required for development before birth and throughout life. TGFβ-3 binds to the receptor proteins on the surface of cells. This binding triggers the transmission of signals within the cell. As part of the TGF-β a signalling pathway, the TGFβ-3 protein helps to control the growth and cell proliferation. The TGFβ-3 protein is especially abundant in skeletal muscles and plays a key role in their development. The protein is also involved in blood vessels formation, regulation of bone growth, and wound healing (PMID: 25835445; 23824657)
